About Ilona/Mina Murray
Mina Murray (Mina Harker) is not Dracula’s reincarnated love in Bram Stoker’s original novelization.
Most famously brought into the reincarnation myth by Francis Ford Coppola in the 1992 film adaptation of the novel (Bram Stoker’s Dracula), actress Winona Ryder played Mina as the reincarnation of Vlad the Impaler’s late wife Elisabeta – adding new depth and meaning to the story, motivation, and ultimate tragedy of the monster.
In NBC’s Dracula, Mina is similarly reincarnated as Vlad’s murdered wife Ilona.
