Alexander Grayson / Vlad Tepes / Dracula

About Dracula/Alexander Grayson/Vlad Tepes

Dracula is, without a doubt, the most iconic vampire story in literary history. Adapted more times than any other piece of vampire fiction and lore, this is a vampire for all seasons. While not specifically mentioned by name in Bram Stoker’s novel, the character of Dracula is notably based on the historical and controversial Vlad III, Prince of Wallachia – a man with two noteworthy aliases: Vlad the Impaler (Vlad Tepes) and Son of the Dragon (Dracula). His father, Vlad II (also known as Vlad Dracul), was inducted as a member of the mysterious chivalric Order of the Dragon in 1431. Vlad III earned the name Vlad Tepes posthumously, due to reports that he had made “forests” of his impaled enemies.

Alexander Grayson is a new alias for this monster of myth and legend; an American entrepreneur in Victorian London.
